The Kardashian Wedding, Who Had 72 Days? Anyone?

2 Nov

Before their demise: the happy couple on their wedding day.

Is anyone actually surprised that after 72 days Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries? Ironically, the 2-part wedding special aired repeatedly this weekend just before Kim filed for divorce on Monday. The extravagance of the ceremony for what people are now calling a sham is overwhelming. However, one wedding detail that I would not mind incorporating into my own wedding plans is the food!

Kim & Kris’ wedding was catered by world renowned chef, Wolfgang Puck. (This may be just a slight indication of how expensive this wedding was.) Guests which included Eva Longoria, Scotty Pippen, Vera Wang, and Ciara feasted on the following according to LA Weekly:

  • Santa Barbara heirloom tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella and basil
  • Hand-formed agnolotti pasta with sweet corn mascarpone and summer truffles
  • Roasted chicken with Yukon gold potato puree, caramelized brussel sprouts and summer truffles
  • Dessert included the multi-tiered chocolate-and-vanilla swirl wedding cake.

The wedding cake, which was designed by Los Angeles’ Hansen’s Cakes, was just as over-the-top. Kim and Kris decided on a 10-tier white cake with chocolate-chip frosting that cost a reported $20,000! The E! channel also gave viewers an inside look into Kim’s Bridal Shower. This time the menu was designed by celebrity chef and friend, Rachael Ray. What a lucky girl!

Even though the marriage was over in the blink of an eye (A sit down meal? #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage, lol!), you can still check out the recipes for 3 dishes Ray prepared specifically for the shower. I guess the only question left now is, who’s catering her divorce party?!

I’m not surprised the wedding lasted 72 days. I’m actually surprised that it lasted that long! The menu was divine… wish I was invited just to taste that food!

I know right! Oh and about the food being divine too! Lol Everything looked delicious, so at least it was not a total waste. Nothing worse than a fake wedding AND the food being bad!!
